i believe the skirts are for protection, and the fact that its too dang hot to wear pants. provides something for the hyena to bite rather than your ***, and open enough to stay cool. i'd totally rock a skirt if i could have a hyena!:headbang2

Well they said they might make it illegal to keep hyena in Florida if it move up to Class 1, depends on what fatally mistake the morons made. i blamed on these irresponible owners for make the laws stiff on exotic animals and snakeheads these days...I want a snakehead :(

I subscribe to bans if the animal is a danger to a neighbor if it escapes. For example a Tiger,Lion, hyena, etc.
While others like agoutis, dwarf goats, etc are fine.

No one has the right to put a neighbor in danger. I dont believe in making it retroactive.
Thus if your a licensed owner now with state okayed enclosure great but no more dangerous exotic permits .

You can get venemous permit in my state as easy as pie which is why so many are bitten by exotic venemous snakes.

I just ordered 2 hyenas to put up against my mosquito fish lol

forget about the hyenas and rhinos, i want a wallaby:D

they actually had a wallaby for sale in a pet store near my house...no lie. it was albino too. dont remember how much they wanted. that store always had really bad weird pets for sale.

Maryland State Statute 131 § 23 states no imported exotic pet can be kept without proper licensing, which according to my friend (used to live in Maryland) is pretty hard to get.

If you do get this permit, you're setting yourself up to care for an animal that has been known to live 25+ years in captivity with a should height of almost a yard and can weigh as much as 200lbs. They run, and fast, for multi kilometer stretches and like to swim as well. If you can make a suitable enclosure, I'll be the first to buy plane tickets to go see this!

i agree . ive spoken to people who have told me som animals they are getting beucase they just got this licence and this permit and you can tell from speking with these people that they are entirely the wrong people to be having exotic animals. this one guy told me he was getting rid of his snakes beucase he just got a alligator...i asked what did he want an alligator for and where is he going to keep it....the guy just laughed and said it doesnt matter its cool. yet someone cant keep a certain type of fish in their tank? :screwy:

Yeah, I know what you mean about people like that. At the last reptile show I went to, one of the dealers selling baby gators also had a probably 36" gator that a customer brought back after a couple years because it outgrew his setup-person #1 that shouldn't keep gators. While I was looking at them, this probably 18-20 year old guy walks up with his girlfriend and picks it up, asking if it's tame, obviously showing off. Just really seeming like he wanted it for the shock value-#2. Luckily, he didn't buy it. I was cringing just thinking about it passing from one idiot owner to another...

in that video the place where they feed the tarpon ive been there....they told me to stick my hand that close ut as u can see from the blood...its why i didnt do it and ijust flung the fish in from 4 ft away.
