Ask to see management, but honestly this is what all petsmart folks are like.

I work part time at a petsmart and I do my best to keep up with all of the new products we get in and research all of the fish we carry, don't be so quick to judge an entire group even though the vast majority are pretty bad. At the end of the day its the corporation's fault, the 'training' for the fish department literally consists of 'match the tag colors', 'one inch per gallon', and 'let your tank run for a day'. If you don't know about fish outside of work they don't do anything to help those people out. I do agree that people who don't bother learning anything are at fault but i guess it just got under my skin when you pile everybody in to the same group when there are a select few of us who actually have an idea of what we're talking about. If there's ever anybody with a differing opinion i'm always respectful. However I do regularly have to refuse sales of oscars for 5 gallons tanks. haha

I bought my daughter another platty for her tank because her male died.

Anyway, I got the third degree about tank setup, etc. I'm thinking their 14 day guarantee is costing them too much because it's the first time they cared at all where the fish were going.

It actually sucked for someone that just wants fish and ACTUALLY has a good home for them because I got like 10 questions including what size heater i have, christ, just sell me the $1.50 fish.

He wouldn't sell you a feeder shrimp?! Lol. I'd go find a manager and make him (or her) get the fish next time. When they ask why elaborate in great detail what a smart@ss they have working in the fish dept.... or even better LFS FTW!

i hate petsmart i was there once and this guy who works there is like getting mad at me cause i told him that silver arowanas can have tankmates if the tank size alows

Never had it happen a worker refuse to sell a fish. If it did I would file complaint with the manager. I wouldn't let young kid who thinks he knows more then you bother me. Sometimes they'll asked me how big is your tank. When I tell them its 300 gallons that pretty much shuts them up.
