Pet swan?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
As much as you'd might like a pet swan a goose would be a better choice. Swans aren't really made for walking on land. If you can find one and I know people keep and breed them, a Baracle Goose (Branta leucopsis) would be a much better choice. They can become very friendly and are well adapted to walking and living on land.

Ah. Forget the swan idea then. :)
How much do the barnacle geese go for? I've never seen them before. :)

One last question, is there any possible way to get a male brush turkey? I'd think it would be hard, due to Australia's exporting policies..

Thanks for all the help.

I'm not sure how much they go for normally but I found them on this site for $150 a piece.

And I'm not sure if you can get a hold of Brush Turkeys or not. I don't know too much about them. But if they're an Austrailian native it might be hard.

I used to have two geese and a duck that I raised from day-olds and they would follow me everywhere and everything then all of the sudden one day they HATED me lol. They would hiss and run and snap all sorts of things ha ha.

Thankfully you change your mind about getting mute swan. They are invasive and are highly aggressive toward other waterfowl and any birds that lives near the water.

A tame swan is even worse than wild swans, they are more bold to chase you without any reasons.
