Peta says: Fish Keeping = BAD!

What's funny about that is they got caught doing that same thing a couple years ago in Dallas.
Ive hunted deer, dove, etc my whole life and at times i've been around some real a-holes that had no "code" and it really pissed me off(killing fawns, carrying guns while wasted, etc).You come across those same kind of person in our hobby.Either have no "code" or no clue.But PETA's nazi extremism never has and never will help an animal.The best thing for our BADASS hobby are sites just like this one and those sometimes a-hole lfs employees that refuse the sale when they spot a jerk about to buy a fish.And there are already legitimate organizations to lobby on harvesting methods(cyanide, etc.)that are more reputable than peta will ever be.As for as the dudes in PETA eating meat goes, everyone knows they love the sausage!

At one time a majority of tropical SW fish were collected that way, now only a shrinking minority is. The reason for the decline is the high death rate. Buyers had such a death rate that they found it more profitable to pay a bit more for fish collected in otherways and have a lower death rate, (they also now recieve a higher price for their fish. Also more fish are being collected by locals (who have a vested interest in sustainable harves) than before. It used to be travelling collector boats who would pay a small fee to harvest an area them move on.
I don't like vegetarian meals because vegetarians tend to taste bitter.
I don't have anything against vegetarians. Some of my favorite foods are vegetarians.

I am a vegetarian. I have a degree in ecology. I go out and kill invasive plants every other weekend. and I hate peta. They give the rest of us a bad name. i am a vegetarian because I believe that modern meat production is inefficient and cannot support the growing global population. And, yes, I have ethical issues with the production of meat and factory farming. But please, don't associate all vegetarians with peta. Many of us are legitimate and peaceful, and don't try to convert people to vegetarianism with spanish-inquisition style techniques. I also especially hate the ALF. This is because they heard of me, and a local member tried to 'liberate' my greenhouse full of animals. Unfortunately for him and his accomplice, I studied masai swordwork in africa, and when a half-naked man comes running out the door waving a four foot long sword, you don't stay around to chat. Even more unfortunately for one of them, I got in a few whacks on the calf with the flat using god hand/lion arm/grass leg combination, which was most likely pretty painful. I didn't press charges. And I reinforced my greenhouse, but they haven't come back yet.

the ecologist in me says: no, robin webb, you're an idiot. The release is disastrous fo r the ecosystem, because in britain, the mink 1) are in direct competition with the native pine marten 2) threaten the nearly-extinct great bustard and 3) threaten the very rare red squirrel and spined dormouse.
