Wow... the options can go either way because of how the question is stated.
The agenda of many Humane Societies and animal rights group is messed up.
I am all for animal WELFARE, but not for animal rights.

I love animals but I hate PETA. All that money that gets donated to them goes toward their stupid rallies and not the animals they so want to protect. Usually that's how it goes.
PETA is a radical, far-left liberal organization that strives to the end of having absolutely zero animals in captivity - be it for pets, food, livestock, entertainment, etc.
That means that PETA doesn't want any of us to keep fish, reptiles, or any other animals. They may say otherwise now, but will continue to take baby steps in that direction until those ends are acheived.
That being said, I absolutely do NOT support PETA or anyone who stands with them.
My fish and reptiles have it very good...seeing that I do not own any wild-caught animals, I can't see how keeping them in captivity is infringing on their rights. I spend more feeding my snakes than I do feeding myself some weeks....

Peta members generally mean well much like the ASPCA, a much better organization, but have been hijacked by extremists. Quite a bit of their funding finds it's way into the hands of groups like ELF. These people destroy property, and have attempted to kill people who disagree with them.
i support them in their animal cruelty cases like puppy mills and dog fights, but i;ll be damned if i'll quit fishing, hunting or eating meat.
They're no longer about promoting animal welfare, if they ever were. They're about promoting themselves. I agree that animals should always be treated with respect and should not be killed except for food (let's face it: humans didn't evolve to be herbivores), but PETA's tactics distract from the message.
