40g breeder is only 36" long, over hanging lights are ugly!! 30" lights are more then enough.

Ya I understand, but that's just what I saw on a quick search and if I don't find anything better Ill go with them. I am going continue my search tonight when I get home.
 
My boyfriend just ordered me the Marineland double-bright LED lights 36-48" last night for the 40g Breeder I'm hoping to get tomorrow. I'm super excited! We were debating between the Double brights or the "Reef Capable," but decided to go with the DB seeing as it's less than half the cost (if not less) with approx. the same Lumen output as the 24-36" Reef lights. Now I just need to find a good hood!
 
I was picking up a few Opaline Gouramis for my wifes tank at Petco tonight. I saw a huge stack of 40B's off in the corner. I asked the very unfriendly, very large, very masculine woman working the fish dept if they were having the dollar per gallon sale soon. She told me that she had no idea, and they usually only do it in the summer as she stared at "Mt Forty Breeder".....I think she lied to me
 
With the 55gal i would have a 3in over hang on the stand. Would that be a problem with the tank or not? Please respond by morning if possible

3 inches off the side will be fine. If it was 3 inches on the front or back side, I wouldn't personally do it.

Haha, I think she lied to you as well :grinno:. The ad is even up on their website right now and has the dates posted.
 
so i will be going tomorrow to my nearest Petco about 30 min drive.. only thing is ima need a stand and the tops..anyone know where i can go online for the lighting and tops for a good deal..TY!

Just checked in with my local Petco and they do have this deal running at the moment.

Heading over now to pick up a tank.
