awesome raccoon! I wanted one so bad as a kid, but it never happened.

My boxer likes to help with the fish too... in her own way...

So does your racoon listen to you, or is he just sit around doing nothin' like my mastiff? Cool pet, very cute

He knows the meaning of many things I say or shout. He does what I want him to, if he feels like it.
But ofcourse, it's only active for a few hours in the morning and in the evening.

i could never keep one as a pet, but that looks really cool

They don't make good pets.

Sorry to divert the thread back to being coon focused, but is it litter trained? Or what are the bathroom arrangements? I'm not looking to get one for myself, I'm just curious.

Yes, it is.
The specs are: it's got a room of his own. It's got a cat sort of a toilet (well, a bit bigger and I'm using newspaper instead of litter, which tended to get carried everywhere in it's moist paws). It uses the toilet except when it wants to tell me I screwed something up.

Folks: don't get one.

They are pretty smart arnt they? Can it open doors or cabinets? What do you feed it? Do you have to trim claws or teeth or anything? I wouldn't get one, I just think its interesting.

I have got a cat, loves to help with the fish...

You've got that right. Getting it to do what you want is pretty much outsmarting it. And to me it's often quite a task. It's very suspicious, too.

It does open doors and cabinets and whatevers. And it - i'm not kidding - learns to open anything by watching how I do it.

If I tried to trim it's claws, I think I'd be in need of a doctor pretty quick. It chews it's claws regularly to shorten them to desired length. It grooms itself, too.
Teeth? Have a death wish?

Seriously, don't get one.
