Simply saying you have diff tanks or returning in an old lady costume to get the other fish is easy enough .

ha ha what an idea ! well to aid the people, i think my next business venture will be to set up a franchise of fancy dress shops located next door to all pets at home stores!

You know if you go into any store, and know what you want, they have it for sale, and you present yourself as knowing what you are doing ...they WILL sell it to you, period!
If you go in trying to trick question them, or test their knowledge, you will never have a favorable outcome...

It's RETAIL for crying out loud!! they want to sell stuff!!!

yeah its retail to the shop ownwers but to the little salesman its a good chance to make himselfself look clever and have the final say which normally end in no and i cant sell you that !

its not shop policy that im annoyed at as such (its there for the animals well being) but its the stupid un educated staff that are aparently "fish keeping advisors" who dont know a molly from a guppy !
im sorry but these people are only in it for quick money and should be workin elsewhere where they are not allowed to make decisions on a topic they know nothing about!

$7-$7.50 an hour to answer all your questions about every animal carried by the store, any animal not carried by the store, find what ever item you are looking for and keep everything neat and clean during a 15-20 hour week that they get or are able to work because of school. Now are you willing to work for that kind of money for that limited amount of hours? Can you answer every fish, reptile, bird and small animal question that comes through from every so called expert that just wants to yank your chain or have an expert tell them what they want to hear?

I treat them with dignity and respect and I get that in return...
I've never had a PetSmart employee tell me they couldn't sell me anything...
I tell them what I want and they get it to me...
I buy fancys from them and food and decor etc.
I have even bought a tank and stand from them because of the good service...Maybe my local PetSmart is different from the norm.
They have even honored online prices, no questions asked...

Why should that be acceptable? You are selling live animals!

This isn't sports equipment sales, lawnmower sales, clothing......etc. These are live beings that cannot all be explained on the same page. I wish a company like petsmart would want to regain some dignity amongst serious keepers and hobbyists. Instead of essentially blowing them off by offering sub-par care and resources, while making all the cash off noobs. Sometimes i forget they are a business to make money. These companies belong in the history books.
