Yay someone stood up for me I didnt want to continue the argument. Just glad to see that my first post that actually gave some fish info was validated by someone who knows what they are doing agreeing with me. Thanks Lupin.

Well said, Tiff.

Red font: If any flaming occurs, report the post and we will sort the issues out.

Edit: I might add that while it is possible to overstock, you simply have to make sure variables that stress the fish are either minimized or eliminated.

Purple font: That's not correct. Their immune system serves to resist pathogens entering their body system. Once they are weakened due to various factors that are stressing them, they can become very vulnerable to several diseases. In ich cases however, the parasites can reside in gill tissues until the fish weakens in which case they begin to become a mass outbreak.

ive always been under the impression that when treated properly ick would be completely eliminated from the tank. and recurring ick problems are due to insufficient treatment length. I was also under the impression that a tank that didnt have ick in it couldnt get ick except through transfer from a host into the tank

Both of your thoughts are correct which is why I explained earlier in your ich thread not to stop treatment course short. I have explained earlier ich can reside in their gills unless you complete the treatment course thereby destroying every parasite there is.

On another note, please get back on topic. Thanks. I only explained and clarified what was not understood earlier.:)

late again. i had the same problem. best thing is to get tha manager and say that hes rufusing to make a sale; that will get you what you want. its sad all the none big corps have died away; all i have is petco and petsmart; and in petco i could probably bag all the fish and walk out with a few extra tanks befor anyone would show up or even ask me if in needed help. and petsmart is messed up they wont tell you were you can get stuff they dont sell, they wont make orders for you even if you offer to pay upfront and they wont take any animals off your hands. so it sucks that i dont have any local stores around.

Squared you are terrible . . . selling 3 mollies, 3 platies, 3 glass fish, 4 male guppies and a pleco to a lady for her 3 gallon unheated tank and letting me do the return.:WHOA:

Plus its not a good idea to badmouth your superiors, remember I am above you on that totem pole.
Dooooooh:D

Why do you expect somebody else to take responsibility for your fish? They are YOUR responsibility not PetSmart's!

This thread is quickly getting out of control. You three that work together need to just take it to PM's or talk at work IMO. :irked:

ha ha i dropped out of this one a while back because it was getting a little heated and now its annoyed a few more ??
this is quite a split argument 50% like petsmart 50% dont
I think its really down to who lives where as some people have a good experience and others know to speak to managers to avoid the staff making decisions!
but i really must say that MY local store is an embarassment to all petsmart shops world wide !!
if you ask for the manager there, you get another teenager who repeats what the staff has already said to you and walks off !!
no one could give two s**** about animal welfare in there its simply 9 to 5 for them !
anyone who lives near west sussex, go to a privately owned store and never go to pets at home etc

oh of course id never expect them to take over my responsibility of my fish. but i was talking about people who have fish breeding and they arnt prepared for that and want to give them away.
