Petsmart dirty secret?

It isn't the fault of Petsmart retailers, but their offices? They are one entity man!

This is just another reason to not go to Petsmart... I go to locally-run LFS because the owners are always more knowledgeable, care about the fish, and generally their intentions aren't just cranking out inferior livestock as fast as possible. I wouldn't go to McDonald's to talk to a chef or buy a steak...

I hate to break this to you, but your local lfs probably buys livestock from large commercial suppliers (or at least someone does, somewhere up the chain). Every single one of us who have bought a pet have supported this practice with our money. Now, I am not shocked or appalled by this video. I've killed more fish than I've kept alive, and I assure you I have the best of intentions, I sink money in like it was water, and I have lots of knowledge. Animals die. Did the animals have food, water and shelter? I think they did. Save your fury for the humans who live in worse conditions than these animals did.

It doesn't matter really because it won't change. Come next X-Mas the pet shops will be filled with people buying puppy mill dogs, little turtles and whatever animal happens to be in style at that particular time.
They all come with a 30 day guarantee too.

Petco and Petsmart have made the pet shopping experience resemble a trip to Home Depot or Walmart. Don't dilute yourself to believe they care at all about animals. Anyone who's ever been to a real pet shop knows what i'm talking about.

Deapite how much I hate PETA, It's hard to believe that what's in that video is fake. Looks all to real to me. Very sickening indeed.

I couldn't even watch the whole thing. And deciding not to buy won't do much.

I know most of the people who work at petsmarts around here - and they're all insane animal lovers. My new approach: show this video to as many of them as I can. We won't be able to stop enough people from buying to make a difference. But they're nothing without employees.

thats horrible, but the part about the guine pigs eating each other happens very often because the will do that to babys even in good enviroments.

I would believe that in say, Afghanistan, but not around my house. The animals all look normal. And the Rabbit procedure...Give me a break, LMAO Clorox wipes are more expensive than anything I can think of to wipe things. Why would they not steal alcohol wipes from the Emergency room like everyone else? Peta......LMAO again. That is like taking relationship advice from O.J. Simpson. I would rather wear tapered jeans then buy into peta BS.....
