The petsmart by my house blows. There tanks are bad. All the fish are sick and the employees dont seem to care.

If the store really is as bad as you say it is, you should contact PM's Care line (you can get the phone number online I believe or at the store) and let them know of your dissatisfaction so the conditions can be corrected, even if you don't regularly shop there. As responsible pet owners, we owe it to the animals to do what we can to help. If policies are not being followed, you should let regional management know so these animals do not suffer.

Las Vegas Petsmart's have 3"-4" Geo. Surinamensis for $5.99 and 3" Brown Bichir's for $6.49 Thinking about getting Geo. Suri's. Do they dig alot? I'm replacing my regular gravel with black tahitian sand.

Agreed. Believe me Petsmart CARES alot about it's customers. Granted it might not look like it. lol

Chain stores is general suckk.. its been quite some time since I spent money at a petsmart, petland, or a petco. Everytime I visit one I am usually uphauled at the conditions or I'm just not in the mood to deal with some retard kid that got hired all of 3 seconds ago that makes 4 cents above minimum wage banging on the tanks trying to scare whatever fish it was that I wanted into a net... usually, not always lfs have employees that know a tad bit more. And usually you can build a relationship with people from the lfs and they will bring prices down for you just for beeing a good customer. If you keep giving your money to massive corporations how is the littlle guy supposed to survive. I usually get my stock from other enthusiasts though because this will ensure your getting a quality specimen. To each his own though, that look just isn't for me

[FONT=&quot]I take it you are referring to Guppy Tales and not Pet Smart. I think that might be her name I can't remember off the top of my head.

[FONT=&quot]I was looking around online and it turns out that Barbie’s shop is called Aquarium solutions and is located out in the valley. I have not been in there before but it sounds like you would give her a recommendation so I will have to out there and check it out.

I completely agree. Also companies like pet smart often have tanks that are connected to ensure parasites and disease can spread to all the fish. It is very important that people quarentine their fish, but sadly most who buy from pet smart don't even know what that is and why it is important.

Another misconception. PM's fish are quarantined before entering there system. Most of the fish PM get come from their own central "warehouse" of sorts, most do not come directly from a wholesaler, so they are in affect quarantined before coming to the store. And as I said previously, it is hard for parasites and bacteria to spread when all of the water passes through a dozen UV lights that burn and kill them all before they can spread.

And by the way, in case anyone doesn't know, PM started out as a LFS originally.
