they are just there to fetch stuff for you......................besides who buys livstock at corporate?

even worse, why buy feeders at retail? from petsmart? you are just asking for something nasty to befall your beautiful fish.

Not to derail the thread, but what I think is funny about Petsmart/petco is that to get a job there, you have to get a drug test, criminal background check, and do a 20 page psycholigical profile online(not kidding) but you don't have to know one thing about fishkeeping.....

yeah.. i applied to petsmart when i was 16 and it was a long online application... they do ask you what postion but its astonishing how theres no basic quiz to go along with that position you chose...

my friend works at petco as part of school related thing and he says they give you quizzes about fish, birds, reptile, and small animals in order to promote you ... and he says theyre easy like cheese....

but i have to say... that one girl who used to work at my store got fired by us... so she decides to go over to petco to apply in the fish section and my friend (mentioned above) told me that she caused a rucus trying to prove the employees wrong on what type of fishes were what.....................she didnt get hired

i only buy equpment at chain stores (except good ones that keep their fish in good conditions)
equipment if its a good brand an such you wout have problems

and like stated just ignore the employees
or ask them a couple easy questions to see if they know what there talking about

Last thing i bought from them was 100 feeders my self and in two days there were all dead and believe me it wasn't my fault

I personally knew a kid who used to... well, effectively "steal" fish from Walmart. I guess Wal-Mart bags the fish, puts the UPC number on the bag, and expects you to enter that number if you go to a self-scan checkout. Well, regardless of what number they put on the bag, my friend used to always enter the code for the 13 cent goldfish. I remember seeing him walk out of walmart with atleast 25 fish, and I dropped him off with only 2 dollars. I always got a kick out of it.

My local petsmart sucks. I'm 16 and I was buying my sister a goldfish so she could take it to college w/ one of my tanks and the worker told me that they weren't allowed to sell fish to minors. So I argued a little, laughed and then just left. I have vowed to myself never to go back to petsmart again. Good thing I have a bunch od lfs's in the area.

The other thing I hate about them is when they quiz you about your own tanks and ask you what size tanks you have and what kinda fish. That just bugs me for some reason.

All chainstores suck. All that is important to any chainstore is the bottom line. That's why the employees are kids that often don't have a clue what they are babbling about. They work cheap.
