actually, you will find that all toads, toad eggs toad tadpoles, and toads are toxic, it is secreted from their pores and can still do unlike the dart frog whose poison is 3rd gen passed from plant to bug to frog .

didn't know that about frogs. Now that you say that, and I think about it, that was information about poison dart frogs and toxic frogs the like. Didn't know toads were different. Learn something new everyday.

A huge dissapointment to me is when a shop has a 6" Sailfin Plec in a 5 Tank.

Or When they have such a small amount of tanks, yet more than 50% seem to be stocked with black moors and comets (goldfish).
Knock some sense into these knobs and maybe, people start shopping thier. Insted of having to choose from:
a) Goldfish
b) Feeder Goldfish
c) Feeder Barbs
d) ****ty looking guppies.

FYI - Most animals that produce neurotoxins (sp?) in the wild, do not produce them in captivity. (ie: pufferfish, dart frogs, firebelly toads and newts.)

The firebelly toads sold from Petsmart are likely captive bred. They probably have lost their ability to produce the toxin.

The reason is because most these animals produce this toxin from whatever their staple diet is in the wild. Puffers eat crustacea that could have toxins. Dart frogs eat fire ants. Not sure about Firebellys, but just like the Dart frogs, the bright coloration is an indication of this toxic ability.

This is probably why your Arowana (which is funny you call so many people stupid, because I am positive you don't and won't ever have a tank big enough for an Arowana.), has yet to die.

I wish....Tell that to my 8inch Red Bay Snook who accidentally swallowed and spat out my 2 inch Green Spotted Puffer. Died in 3 minutes. Miss Ya Buddy

I love our Petsmart,there Prices are much lower than the other LFS. I have learned in the time you spend complaining you could have reserched the information you expect them to know. and (SET THE CELL PHONE DOWN AND SHOP) everyone hates it LOL

OH Yeah I forgot about the price matching....Well a couple a people on this forum and another have told me about the price matching and about a coupon that I download that was a valid petsmart coupon. Some people have bought 3 rena fx3 filters with no problem. When I get there me and my dad two separate buys could only buy 1 and they did not honor the coupon. I was price matching something off the petsmart website. I could have bought the filter on-line and used the coupon on-line but I needed immediately. Maybe the petsmart employees that I go to are jealous that I spend more money in their in store in a week than they make in a month!!! If u don't like your job QUIT!!!!

What's your gripe exactly ? Trying to get something for nothing and getting called? Complaining about a "nosy" employee? Complaining about no price matching from an online coupon or price?
Maybe you should try the old Walmart tag switch like in another post.
Don't like the store policy? don't go back. I'm sure they won't miss you.

yea i mwean if hes going in there spending $50 or what ever a week, surely he either owns his own 100,000 gallon tank, or that he doesnt have a clue on how to keep fish.. buyi g new ones every week

I have a question about Petsmart, I just bought a Blue Ahli from them on the sticker they say they are males. All of the Petsmarts in the Atl, GA area are selling these ahli's and they all sale male only. Can I be totally confident in the fact that this fish is definetly a male? Just basically wondering if Petsmart is pretty reliable as far as this stuff goes or could this thing just as easily be a female? Reason Im wondering is Im trying to find a female mate for it but it'd suck if I did find a true female and my "male" ended up being a female. Someone educate my newbie ***!

Really depends on the size. Juvies of both sexes look pretty much the same. I bought 5 one time and ended up with four females and a male.
My male didn't color up for a year, and within 2 weeks it seems, he was beautiful.
Petsmart either passes along the supposed sex that they were told by the wholesaler, or an employee just takes a wild (mostly uninformed) guess.
BTW, most fish sold as Ahli are really Freyeri. They look similar, but they are different. True Ahli's are few and far between, especially at the "chains".
