anybody???

My petsmart had more banded leporinus's come in as well as peacock eels! I got a peacock, i'm planing to get a leporinus!

I have no idea whether the local Petsmart has knowledgeable employees or not, because I only go there when I know exactly what I want and don't need to ask questions. I have noticed, though, that their plant tank is full of houseplants.

I do like their generously long return period compared to the several small LFS.

petsmart has better quality fish a good guarantee...... but some of their employees..... omg i was in there today getting some convicts and i even pointed and she goes over and gets me two jack dempseys...... wow

im glad this topic has resurfaced. its a nice discussion.

my petsmart stocks leporinus, ABK, sen bichirs, red snook, peacock eels and dojo loaches, rubbernose plecs, and occasionally, denison barbs, congo tetras, BN plecs, and clown plecs. a nice selection for a plain old petsmart IMO.

Mine had a decent selection but then they downized the live fish section, to make room for more tanks. They got rid of half the tanks and all the plants

Mine also got rid of their plants, except some eloda and a grass-type plant...I enjoyed going there to pick up a few live plants occasionally. :(

I know that i buy feeder fish at petsmart but most of the time the one close to home seems to have poor stock. Im not saying this reflects on the whole chain of them but mostly they seemed underfed and there are frequently many deceased fish chilling in the water around here.

its the only fish store i have withing ~30 miles, so there is not much of an option. but there fish are decent enough that usually i will only lose 1 out of 3 or 4, and then there return policy is also fair.

i quarantine everything from Petsmart, and they get Nitrofurazone, Furazolidone, and Metronidazole over a 2 week period.

bump! The first post in here posted in 2010!
