The tank had four holes drilled in the bottom when I bought it. The holes were different sizes and not in appealing locations. I always said when I move this sucker I'm going to fix that! You can see the picture of my patch job on one of the holes. It obviously didn't work!

The plan: I'm going to drain the tank and dry it out. Then I'm going to run a bead of thick weld-on acrylic cement along the edges of the patch. After that dries I'm going to run a bead of silicon 1 along the edge. I can be messy because this is on the bottom and will be under an inch of gravel.

I will not loose to a leak! :headbang2 just a minor set back and my OCD will win if I have to stay up 36 hours a day to watch the glue dry! ;)

I also called in a management team and they sent me this little supervisor!

Leak is repaired! The patches I put on the old bulkhead holes failed. For the repair I just glued the four edges of each patch with thick weld-on glue. Then I smeared silicon over that and let dry for two days. The patches are on the bottom and will be under the gravel.
24 hour test fill good.
Now I'm going to drain the tank and start the plumbing. First part will be drilling more holes. Unfortunately most of the holes will be through the 1" thick acrylic part of the tank. What a joy! :(

I'm installing the sump and a huge bio tower. This tank had two 1.5 holes in the back when I bought it. I added another 1.5 bulkhead hole for the Glass-holes.com over flow. I needed something to skim the surface crud and I wanted some more drain capacity. Hopefully the glass holes over flow will fit that bill.
Tricky part is getting all three overflows at the same hight. I haven't glued the back over flow risers yet so I can tweak those during a test fill.

Here's the pics for you filtration geeks:
