Phase Two Started

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well it's finished! I think lol. I'm not sure how the background looks? I worked on it for hours and it's kinda like an art project.......ya either love it or hate it. My wife is happy because she couldn't stand the "laboratory look" you know the black background, no gravel, broken flower pot look. This tank is in the "formal living room" with the panino and furniture from the 1800's lol. So I don't know......maybe a little too much effort for the results.
I hid all of the plumbing. I ran two air lines to the bottom behind the background. There's space behind the background for a couple heaters and water circulates from behind the background to the sump back to the tank. Hopefully there's no dead spots. It's late and I've had a few but I think I will take a few pic for you guys just to see what ya all think????
Back in 30 with pics :)

No water yet, I think the pictures will be clearer with water.

You can see the black screen in some of the pictures to help with the flow of water to the over flow. Also I tried to cover the glass-holes over flow. The objective was to hide all equipment and kinda make it look like a natural environment. Have a look and let me know what you guys think????

Sweet. Drunk pics of fish. J/K

Impressive tanks. If I had anything like either of those tanks in my living room, there would be no need for tv.

LOL I watch "rescue me" and football, that's it. :headbang2

Whoa, are you serious man? If anyone tries hating on that background work, f that. That tank is ridiculous. Awesome work, the rock work looks sooo real.

What fish are going in that tank?

Not sure........It's going to start out with silver dollars and angles to get it cycled then I think I'm going with peacock bass, a pike cichlid or two, and some Dats and a few Bichirs..........

Looks great! what material did you use for the shelf looking part that covers the opening between the two sheets?

That part was tricky. The upper panel and lower panel curved in opposite directions, one bending forward and one bending back causing a huge gap. I had some left over mesa rock wall panels from my 450 build and I cut that to fit the gap, making it slope slightly down.

I think I'll fill it tomorrow and I was going to get black sand/gravel for the bottom. Should look cool.

EDIT: I posted this up two days ago, you guys just getting around to it now??? Must of been a good weekend ;)~
