That background is the coolest thing. Do you get much noise from the Bio tower ?

That's a good question!

Yes, the noise is unbearable. err was? I'm working on that now. I put an inch thick styrofoam backing on 1/4 acrylic panel for the top of the bio tower. That alone dropped the noise down maybe 80%.

Then I got this acoustic foam from audio places on line (pic) and I built a cover and/or skins around the stand and bio tower with this foam on the inside. It quiets the sound down to almost nothing. I can still hear the hum of the pumps but the waterfall splashing is gone.

Edit: Soon full tank shots of the fish and the stand. You guys are going to love the stand I can't wait to post em up

Personal opinion: I think the splashing is good. The splashing is water getting churned up with oxygen and the beneficial bacteria love it! The noise sucks! So I wanted the best of both worlds, who doesn't? It's truly a work in progress, and there's more work to do according to wife.

If you get that 600 I know a guy that can weld up a nice stand. You can skin it how ever you want, make it nice for the living room ( http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=278442 )or monster style for the garage. Mine will be monster style and I know my wife will hate it lol. Regardless the stand will be very strong and it will last longer than we do

Yeah, I'm happy the way the background and stand turned out. Now I have to change the other stand to match. Not sure if I will ever do that though
