picked up 2 1" EBJDs, questions

They were right around 1" when I got them (eye-balled, never actually bothered to measure them). Today (11 weeks later) they are both 3" +

Heres a few videos for an update. The larger of the 2 is JUST under 3.5", the other is over 3" but not quite as big as the other.
Took the first video last night, the rest when I got home from work today.

my EBJD experience is a bit different (I only have the one): I got mine at 1", for $30 at a local LFS that never has them, but somebody special ordered 6 EBJDs, and they had a delivery of 8; since I shop there a lot, they let me pick one out before the guy picked 'em up . . . cool
I've had no problem keeping mine alive; I've kept him in tanks w/ and w/o UV lighting, but good water conditions always. he's now about 3" and seems very healthy . . .
my only reservation is that despite his bright blue color, he is actually a pretty ugly little fish (!) because, unfortunately, he developed that "beak" look that is common to this breed. I'm hoping maybe he'll grow out of this particular stage . . . still a great little fish, very active

Amazing beauty...and you can really see the growth in these new videos... your tank is gorgeous.. they are certainly thriving... from your care... keep the updates coming..
Sab_Fan, how long did it take your EBJD to go from 1" to 3"? I don't have a UV sterilizer but I do my best to keep good water conditions. The longest period I've gone without doing a water change since adding them has been 6-7 days. I usually do one during the week sometime and one on the weekend. Gravel vaccing while removing water, and only do 20-25g water changes at a time (125g tank). The last 2 times I've tested nitrates in the last week or so they've been at 10 and 5

Took these videos this week sometime between 9/16 - 9/19. A couple weeks ago I was saying the EBJDs were at 3.5", but I think that was wishful thinking now (they were probably closer to 3.25"). But they're definately 3.5 now
