I think you made a good choice. Are you using roobios or are there just tannins from the wood. I love the look of driftwood/rock setup.

I continue to be torn between bare bottom and open vs doing sand with driftwood. Ultimately the worry of sand in the filters and extra maintenance is going to keep me away for scaping it.

How do you like your lights so far?

Trying to see your intakes but can’t in these pics. You’ve done a nice job hiding them.

Thank you. I like he lights a lot. Lots of cool automated features and decent adjustability.

I would go sand but that’s just me. All depends if you are all about the fish or if the scape is just as important.

Anubias was planted last night. Used super glue gel to fasten them onto the wood. Used more than I hoped on some pieces trying to get them fully secured. Less is more. I regret how much I used on some with the glue appearing very white.

Once the roots start to grow a bit, you won't notice the white so much.

Agreed. It’s a shame that my pati nice always seems to be lacking when it comes to this hobby.

That's looking suuuuhweet. For variety you could also consider nana petite, that's a favorite attached to wood and hardy as well.

Aside from super glue, I've used brown twisty too to attach plants to driftwood. No, no harm to water or fish. In fact, I learned that from the owner of Zen Aquarium...aquascape focus store in Seattle.
