i second the instant ocean, works great for me, but then again iowa is right next to wisconsin, and texas is a long ways away, very possibly differant water tables disolve solids in differant ways, i suggest trying a couple kinds and seeing which works best for you.

well i stopped by an lfs on my way home today and the quotes i got for an angler were ridiculous.

Would I be able to use this tank as a growout for the monster tank instead and then use it as a quarantine/hospital tank once i get the big one?

And I heard green wolf eels or any wolf eels for that matter are crazyyy aggressive

I saw a yellow headed moray today though for $34 which piqued my interest. Not sure if it was fimbriatus or the other one. Would this be a bad choice for my tank?

And Im going to some lfs's tomorrow any suggestions or anything to look for?

the wolf eels are actually blennys i believe and not actually eels, the only ones i have seen were only mildly aggro, where as the fimb. moray i have heard some horror stories about.

liveaquaria.com has assorted anglers for $60 plus shipping and there were 2 on divers den for $80 plus shipping

yeah later last night i read about them being blennies so off i go to the lfs's

can someone give me any suggestions w/in the next 5 mins?

I have a green wolf eel at work...only one I've known, but he dosen't pick on it if it can't fit in his mouth. I like him a lot, and he is always out and about, versus some of the "true" eels that seem to hide quite a bit more. I've seen snowflake eels gnaw on triggers and tangs and stuff.. to "test" them out haha...the wolf eel dosen't do that.

the gnawing on each other and other fish doesnt bother me, they more or less just see what flavor they are and realize there not what they want to eat, the thing that bothers me is when they decide they want to gnaw on my fingers lol

k i went and picked up salt, sand, a hydrometer and scored some insanely pregnant mosquito fish out that got mixed up into the minnow tank while i was at petco getting salt

If you have a big enough tank with some baby grass...you can probably keep yourself in mosquitios for awhile. :D

k so what can i get really tiny to use this tank as a growout tank
