Picky Azul

I took your advice, since then he's eaten 1 pellet one feeding, one dry shrimp the second feeding, and 2 dry krill the third. Whereas the broko and xingu eat at least a dozen and are half his size. Think this means he knows its food and just doesn't like it and is only eating enough to satisfy him to continue to be picky lol? Gonna go pellets today and see what he does, his colors are starting to go ugly and he's looking thin and chasing the xingu a lot, can't believe he's giving me so much hassle.

Your making progress thats good, once he starts eating he'll thicken up in no time.

Just fed pellets. He went to the glass and to the top and waited, he looked quite interested. Problem when he went for them the broko and xingu smoke the top of the water much quicker than he does. So after a couple hits from the little guys he ended up eating one pellet. One lousy pellet lol. Why one? Argh.

Broko courtesy of Jeff rapps. Xingu courtesy of Scotte Crowe at osa aquatics. Will highly recommend both, Scott went by far the extra mile though so he deserves special mention. FedEx lost the package lmao!!!

Still only eating 1 or 2, max 4 of the floating pellets or dried stuff. It's just crazy because I know he's hungry, I think when the xingu and broko smoke the top if the water it scares him to be honest, even though he's much bigger.

i had a few different bass when i had a 500g. one i remember was an 18" azul i was holding for a friend. i really wanted to buy him but he didnt eat a single thing for 40 days, not a single rosie, pellet shrimp or anything. my friend arranged to sell him, and 2 days before he got picked up he started slamming massivore.. weirdest thing ive seen

Keep at it w/ the pellets. he will catch on. 2_4 pellets is better than none. Try adding another azul :)

Okay so apparently someone is coming to pick up my temensis today. The azul hasn't eaten krill or pellets in 3 days or so now. Shows no interest. What are ppls thoughts on throwing the azul in my big tank? He will likely be shy and hide a lot, I don't think anyone is a threat to him, but will it stress him out bad since he doesn't eat? And think it will be harder to train him onto other food in there?
