Picky Azul

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Today I fed them a couple hours late, Azul was first one to the glass, first one to smoke a pellet, and came back up over 10 times. Ate more than the other two combined. Not declaring victory yet, but can't help but thinking the battle might be over.

That's it, u won, declare victory. The fact that he ate A LOT, means that he now loves the taste. The only way YOU can F up is to give him other foods too soon. Keep him strictly on pellets for a couple months.

I bet ur all giddy inside huh? Not going lie, I was :)

Hahah ya kinda, satisfaction and relief came over me pretty quick when he smoked the top of the water like 10 times. Problem is, he ate so much he ate the rest of my pellets that are on order from ebay on their way right now. I really really hope they come today hahah or idk what im gonna do, buy a small bag retail for like $500 bucks or whatever the going rate is now at pet stores LOL.

i just thought id give a quick update, all 3 bass smoke the top like no other. the azul chases the broko and xingu all the time still, but he eats more than all of them combined now. the battle is over, now the battle to balance powerfeeding and clean water begins!!!

I knew you would do it, and once you break a picky pbass once, it's a little easier the next time.

Where did you get the tig? I need one!
And what are you running for filtration? Wc schedule? tank size?
aquatraders.com makes a big canister that is dirt cheap and works quite well.

the tig i got locally, steal of a deal too and tahts the only reason i got it, and i couldnt have been happier with him. eats right outta my hand, hes so cool. im just running an aquaclear 110 on it, i do have an eheim 2215 sitting in the basement but i have been too lazy to get it setup, now that theyre bigger though i will get around to it soon. wc schedule is 50% every week, tank size is 4x1.5x1.5. if your asking cuz of the greenish water its because it was fresh after a water change where i removed all the sand from the bottom of the tank. ive come to realize how much i hate sand as a substrate, maybe im just not good at maintaining it but with feeding the bass 3 times a day to try to get them in my 400 gallon im getting a ton of algae and other crap that sticks to the sand and my bass chase each other around all the time kicking that shiz up so i just got tired of it and took it out, just like i did on my 180 before for the saem reason. gravel or bare bottom for me.

add that other filter. One filter on a tank is never a good idea. What happens if that one filter fails while your away? Always good to have a backup.
