you are both incorrect, to an extent....

the top one in the first picture IS most definately a silver arowana.

the bottom one im not too sure about.

its color and body shape are throwing me off

i need a body shot that includes the tail to confirm.

Correction... nice arowana

I have only seen pics of mature blacks here on MFK, always seems thier body is more slender. The 2 in the pic seem to have the taller bodies like silvers. Oh well if he says there blacks I'll go with that.:)

lol this is a dumb argument;)

Nice Aro's, horrible water...looks like a brackish pond, not to be rude but....ewW. I have to agree, they do look like silvers to me, the body is tall and has pleanty of girth.....if they are mature blacks congrats though...never seen really old blacks....hmmm....how big are they by the way, that can help determine what they are as well. Blacks usually are more petite and do have a distinct hinge of black to them. Maybe a better pix.

I see from reading your other posts that this is a newly set up 125 gallon tank. Your water does not look right, probably an algae bloom. What type filter do you have and what steps did you take to cycle it? Have you tested your water parameters, ammonia, nitrites and nitrates?

Whether blacks or silver they are nice looking fish and would hate to see them damaged from poor water conditions.

ya i was told they are both blacks..i think they are the big one is about22 inches the other about 18 and a lil less girth.....on the water issue ya i just established the tank so i pulled some of my bacteria from some emperor filters to mix in the water..shock the media around in the water ..i have a cascade cann. running ....any advice on the water....lookin 2 do a change this week but didnt want to stress them to much thet hadnt been eating and just finally got em eating a lil but still not great
