Aquarium Salt doesn't make it brackish, Sea Salt does I think.

thats what i asked the guy he said as long as you dont have fish that are affected by salt everything will be fine and that aquarium salt raises the salt level a little

this is waht my tank looks like right now. im getting rid of the cat and gar tuesday. im still researching the eel. the guy at the pet store said that it does better in brackish but it will do fine in fresh if i put in aquarium salt after every water change

Believe me, the eel HAS TO GO. If you will not believe that it needs brackish, then at least be aware that these eels grow to a little over 2 feet and therefore need at least a 150 gallon tank to be housed properly (which is a fact that can easily be researched).

That guy is just as misinformed as you are (no offense), I would definitely advise against taking any further advice from him. As Chris said, aquarium salt will not make the tank brackish, the only use for aquarium salt is disease treatment.

BTW, u seriously messesd up with ur stock choice but u have been flamed enough for that, im pretty sure that u can be arrested for cruelty to animals if conditions like that remain, so u better sought urself out

He cant be arrested, dont try to scare him. He's doing his best and what conditions? the fish arnt that big and the water is crystal clear so dont try to use arrest as a threat because alot of people take much worse care of their fish then he does

I'm not stupied I don't think that the FWC is going to arrest me for having some fish in a tank.

i dont like bream and shinners because i us they for bait i want something that eats other fish(i know that bream do) and all the ones i have put in my tank have been very pale and not colorful. they only seem to have color in dark water.
