High nitrates will cause white blood cell production to come to a complete stop, rendering the fish completely with out an immune system.


They can live like that for a long time...until a germ gets in the tank and they all die and start to realize how serious a high nitrate problem is.
 
oh i did not know that when my nitrates get back down will that fix their immune system or are my fish doomed to die because i screwed them up.
 
Are hoplos legal to own in Florida? I've caught them all over.
