I think there legeal it dosent say that you can't have them on fwcs list of non native species. The acaras are pretty cool fish I get them in my neighbors pound along with huge pacu and a variety of non native fish

Nice! Whereabouts in Florida are you? I caught my acara in the everglades, and a bunch of hoplos in Sarasota.
 
Is that a red tail sternella in there? No matter how much filtration you have, your crazy overstocked. 55s are way too narrow and if they aren't already, your fish are gonna get all aggravated and stressed with that situation. Tank looks real clean but you should really try to convince parents to reconsider. Sorry for those wild caught ones--they must be bummed out big time with no where to go.

Pacu are awesome!!! I have one in my 180g(He will soon outgrow it though). When I got him he was the size of a silver dollar coin. Less than a year later he is about 7-8lbs and about 14" long...

Here is a pic--the pvc pipe is 4"--lol

They get huge,
