ok guys just provoke the kid and get him upset so he will keep cussing and end up banned. then everything will be all better in your little world? NO. it wont. the kid wont have a place to turn and then the fish will die. he clearly didnt know it was animal abuse (which i agree it is but again he didnt know) and he was acting remorseful about it. you guys know that there are local fish stores in some areas that will stock a tank worse than this just to make a sale and tell the people that its fine. you guys have no reason to gang up on him like you have never made a mistake. someone who loves their fish enough to join this site is someone who is very similar to you but the only difference is he is uneducated on this subject. give him a chance? teach him the stuff you have learned from this site. think where some of us would be if we never joined this site or if this is how you got treated when you became a new member.but to everyone that likes ganging up on the 14 year old that is forced to live by his parents rules? yea you guys are awesome.:thumbsup:

True but its not always a longterm situation, they fish usually get bought.
 
I really hope everyone can calm down people learn from mistakes, for example myself when i was 10 i bought myself a 10 gallon fish tank with my Christmas money, and got some fish and they kept dying over and over, i finally was able to keep a iridescent shark for about a year and they died i finally shut down the tank and put it away about 2 years ago i got back into fish keeping first opening up my 10 gallon again with a flowerhorn juvi then soon upgraded it to a 40 then finally to a 75 but again i did what i could with what money i had. Im still a college student so im sure alot of you guys know how the money situation is in college. But anyways back to the point over my years of Failure i've learned to fix my mistakes. One by reading through people's post and websites and slowly learn. So give a kid a break he's trying his best and things can't change overnight, if you guys keep pushing him he might get desperate and release the fish into the wild which does no good. Constructive Criticism is the way to go......Key word CONSTRUCTIVE. So lets help the future generations including myself to learn the correct way by teaching in a respectful loving manner rather then bashing and negative comments. And to the OP goodluck with your fish tank! fish look nice, just do a lil research and learn from the people on the site. don't get discouraged by those negative comments! Oh and looking at the full tank pics to me that looks like a 75gallon....unless the pic resize screwed up the dimensions.
 
hey everybody im really sorry for the language if i could take it off i would If I could. ive been getting pretty pissed at everyone sayind that im abusing my pets. i felt bad after i posted it and wanted to take it off. i really love my fish and wish i could keep them. i am getting rid of all my fish tomorrow execpt for my jd. the whole reason i put pics of my tank on here was so i could get some tips and pointers and learn if i had made any mistakes , witch i have. i am going to fix the problem as soon as i can but it is going to be hard to part with the animals i love. i am sorry if i have offened anyone and i deserve to be baned. thank you to everyone that has help me learn how to be come a better fish keeper
 
Snook - you can edit out the cussing by clicking on the edit/delete button under your post. I haven't figured out how to actually delete a comment yet (I think that's reserved for admins), but you can maybe take all the text out and just leave a post with "self-edited" in it.

Parting with pets can be hard. Remember though that it's what's best for them at this point. Keep the JD for now. Stay on the site and learn more about fishkeeping. Even more important, in my opinion, take some time and find fish that you like that can live with that JD for life...without eventually outgrowing the tank or crowding it to the point that they kill each other.

I say you should sell everything but the eel and get some cool dithers, maybe keep the armored catfish too but get rid of everything else because that TSN will get bigger then the tank is. I am however jealous of how well all your fish get along and it looks like a very nice tank. Please for the fish's sake get rid of atleast the Gar and TSN
 
Ok I will I am thinking about get a datnoids. I made a thread in general discussion because no one answered me in the datnoids section. And I will take that off
 
a datnoid would be a much better suggestion, you could keep one in there for a while or even 3
