pictus go with angels?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yeah balas would be a bad combination with neons. They would disappear faster than with the angels. My balas would take out 3-4 feeders at a time.

black skirts are cool. What about emporer tetra? I still think some rainbows would be sweet.

In a large tank like that a big school of buenos aires tetras would be amazing with the angels. They grow to a bit over 2" so they wouldn't get eaten and they really explore the tank in a tight shoal. Also I'd go for striped dora's on the bottom.

I know that they will be eaten. But whats one or two here or there in a school of 50. :grinno:
Nah, entire shoals of neons can disapear in but hours when pictus catfish go into feeding mode- especially when there are a number of individuals together.

Black skirt tetras, adult Serpaes, columbian tetras, Congo tetras, all very neat tetras.

i think if i wanted a giant tank of tetras i would definitely either go the classic route of neons, or even better, or the best looking, the congo tetra! no one else can compete with that.... but all in all, i think id prefer a good semi aggressive tank over a tropical community tank. you know, red tail sharks, bala's, pictus, or what else? but i feel open towards both sides. i just think that semi aggressive fish might look better if nearby with tanks of other large fish.

i really like the look of those sharks. is there something that i could use as a "centerpiece" to the tank?

true. I wasnt including the pictus in my suggestion. Just tossing out a different idea you know.

But a school of apollo sharks would be sweet. im in.

yeah. i would prolly have to order those online. and could i do pictus and bala's? like a half and half thing. id love to do a school of congo's but i remembered that at my lfs they are quite expensive. about 6 bucks a piece :( and for a big school of them.... yah! the sharks and the cats or other sharks would be the better deal. but then again, my black skirts are supposed to be schooling fish too, but yet they are so comfy in that tank that they are spread out all the time.

that might actually be a pretty cool tank.

Get like 6 and 6. Very silver. I might have to steal that theme for a future tank. I like it.
