pictus go with angels?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
lol go right ahead. and send me pictures. so stock is?

6 Apollo Sharks
5 Pictus Catfish
5 Bala Sharks

i upped the numbers on the last two, and even this isnt breaking the inch per gallon rule, but its pretty much fully stocked, unless there were something special to roam the middle of the tank? my thoughts are telling me black ghost knife........

If you like silver fish, there's no beating Tinfoil barbs. Way too often overlooked as nice fish. Feed them a good colour enhancing food and that red colour looks striking against the silver shine in the tank.

Look at this stunning fish: http://bp0.blogger.com/_aXgK9oIENM0...JZ9mS60/s1600-h/tinfoilbarb_with_bead_fly.jpg
Looks as nice as an arrowana.

Some photos of various showls of them:

even the black ghost knife with all of that? i think it would make for quite the impressive setup, very flashy. as well as the bgk being the contrast to all those fish and being the oddball. i like to throw in oddballs. but im not the only one who does.

i am familiar with the tinfoil barb! they are very pretty. once they get large their tail gets very red. ive seen some 6 inch tinfoils get bullied by a 3 inch oscar b4 lol, but i could add a small number of them as well? the tank will be overfiltered.

so is that a yes then? lol. im not familiar with certain models of filters, but from what ive heard and read, fluval is the best brand to get? so what about

8 apollos (to even out the tank strata)
5 pictus
5 bala
1bgk
6 tinfoils (they get the second biggest, the bgk is the largest adult size in tank at 18")(tinfoils get to 14")

im also looking at getting a few flowthrough systems for my tanks, essentially getting rid of water changes. (not really, but it does it continuously so that i dont have to do them, but theyre still being done)

I have some tinfoils right now. Love em. like a chubby bala shark. I prefer the slender classic look to balas. But i love the colors on the tinfoils.

Will i think you owe us all pictures of that 200 you have.

agreed. i looked up those filters you got. if they are all on that 200 gallon tank of yours, you got some serious filtration going on. if my math is correct, about 3 times tank capacity filtration, plus if you add more then thats 4 times.... very nice indeed.

The FX6 is by no means the best filter, not Fluval as a brand. But in my opinion the FX5 stands apart from the rest of fluval filters. It's a tank, in some ways too powerful. The Fx5 filters 400 gallons, at 925 gph (before media) and will turn over my tank about 4 times an hour. The Fluval 405's are a decent filter, good for 200 gallons of water. Good workhorse, but there are better bang for your buck filters. The price of the Fx5 varies by source and you can usually get them for an amazing deal if you look far enough.

So I think the tank is turning over 6 times an hour.

Here is several incarnations of the tank. The last being the present. If I only had more tanks this large, I would do a simulated mangrove with tinfoils, amongst other big ideas.
