my tokay is used to eating crickets.if i tossed in a live pinkie do u think he would eat it.

Hey, you're back! LOL
Yeah he'll most likely eat it, just don't feed one that's too large.

Didn't you ask this question before?

If you want to feed it a pinkie, at LEAST flick it on the head to kill it. Even feeders deserve to die humanely.

just feed a prekilled pinky f/t would be better but sometimes hard to find, pinkie mice look like fingers so the tokay should eat it lol

Yea it should definetly eat it........but as stated I would either buy a F/T mouse or at least flick it on the head before.......I was in the LPS the other day and they fed a live small mouse to a full grown tokay and it just completely crushed the mouse's head.......was really gruesome, I'd try and save the mouse some of that pain.......

wouldn't flicking the head be about as bad pain wise as instantly crushing it?

That would be my opinion.

I'd rather be knocked unconcious from a swift blow to the head than have my skull slowy crushed. Also, a Tokay doesn't really have a lot of jaw pressure so it would probably take a few attempts. Most of the time they don't always get them on the head in the first bite and then there's a lot of mouse biting. The mouse gets thrown across the cage a few times etc. It can be pretty brutal sometimes. In cases with bigger mice I always like to feed pre killed or f/t for the safety of the lizard. An adult mouse can do some serious damage.
Large_Cihlids, see if your LPS sells frozen pinkie mice. You can thaw those out in warm water and then toss them in the tank for your Tokay.
