I go fish at a baldwin lake here in illinois and they have a bait shop and on thier wall they have a 2 1/2 pound piranha the lake is a power plant lake it stays warm year round since I seen the piranha on the wall I have wondered what else is in there .... by the way its a great spot to catch some big catfish I have caught catfish around 70 pounds out of it I say around cause my fish scale only goes uyp to 65 and it burried it so there are some onsters in that lake :D

I know quite a few guys from MI that travel down to thos power plant lakes to fish for bass

whos destroying the environment now?

theres probably several chemicals they could use to paralyze the fish, and remove any piranhas that float to the surface.

yes but nothing is as effective.

I hate humans. Gotta love when someone is worried about a certsain species being dangerous for a foreign habitat and then the most destructive species of all comes in, muders every living thing, and...saves the ****ing day! *******s...I know I know...if they don't we will have ourselves another snakehead epidemic which has killed every native species in MD right?

Thats actually a brilliant idea. I guess like multispecies said its not cost effective but when you wipe out a body of water .

Local fisherman who are your eyes when it comes to catching Piranha will now no longer contact the state and it becomes self defeating not to simply "stun" the pond and thus remove only the piranhas.

Idiots its not like they have legs and hunt you down.

not cost effective but effective in getting rid of the pest fish. Most other ways which stun the fish are not reliable. To stun a large area such as a pond there only ment for basic assesments of what species are present not for large scale use or eradication of one species. With electroshocking which stuns fish and they float to the surface there is no way to make sure you get all of the pest fish.
