Aww...the infamous pit thread!

I agree with evilyardgnome. Pits are dangerous dogs. Yes a little toy poodle is far more agressive, but you are in absolute denial of the truth if you think a pit is less dangerous then a toy poodle. Id rather walk into a room with 100 little yappy ass ankle biting toy poddles then one pit that I dont know. They are powerful animals and you must respect that.

Am I pit basher? Hell no! I love them. Im a pit owner basher...99% of pit owners are either thugs who treat their dogs like **** OR naive people who think their dog could do no wrong.

To own a pit...or any other large powerful dog an owner must always be aware of his dogs POTENTIAL to cause serious injury or even in many cases...death.
 :iagree:
i have a rott and the horrible things people tell me about how he's going to attack me.... then i reply that'll be the last thing he bites cause the next thing he'll bite is the dust! then they look at me like i'm some horrilbe person... i tell them to make up their mind stop sittin on the fence.
i love my rott best dog ever just having him keep jahova's witnesses away!:headbang2

Im a vet tech and ive seen what rotts and pits are capable of...i have also seen what labs, huskies, chows, boxers and even chihuahuas can do...EVERY dog has teeth and the ability to be mean/aggressive. I have seen some amazingly large and muscular pits at the hospital and yet they are some of the chillest and nicest dogs. Blame the owner, not the pet.

That's my opinion too.

I don't ever want to blame a specific breed for anything, but I've been attacked by quite a few dogs, 5 of which were cocker spaniels, others were: a funny dog that the owners called a chow(looked like a labXjindo to me), a lab mixed with golden, a german shepherd(poor boy was going nutty in his cage though), a horrible matted and upset chowchow who was abandoned charged at me every time I would sneak over to his house and feed him, 2 chihuahaus, a collie, 2 border collies(together), and this little scruffy dog who attacked me when I was 6.

Most of the dogs I have been around are APBT or pit mixes, only one tried to bite, and he'd just been hit by a car.

I remember when I was 8, I had just gotten my first puppy and was walking her, and a rather large red nose who lived across the street from me jumped over his fence like it was nothing, but only scared my dog to death and sniffed her lol then bounced to me and my friend hoping we'd pet him or something.

I know someone near us who has a german rott and a basset hound mix.. I was over there when some friends came by, the rottie ran right over and slimed them with her horrible wet kisses, and then the basset mix got loose and tore the person's hand up.

Check this out. This is for all pitbull haters. If it is common for a certain breed more than others to attack, then how can one defend them?
