Hi there i just have to add something, wasnt going to but i just felt like i had to. I just recently had to put down my boxer 2 months that was 8 yrs old. He has grown up with pits, labs and other boxers all its life and has been around children all his life. He had a personality like no other and loved any attention given to him weather it was an adult petting so gently or a kid chasing him in circles and trying to ride him like a pony. 2 months ago my daugter started to crawl and BAM he attacked her and bit her side of her face and the back of her collar bone. These two were bestfriends and "rocky" always loved to come up and play with her and even when she had her naps hed lay beside her playpen and nap with her. My point is ANY dog will attack they are just like humans and every dog will have a bad day or two. You cannot trust anydog with a child and its not fair to a child to put them in a predicament such as that. (I know this now). Now a few things saved my daughter from being killed and thats is the fact i was right there when it happen,he had no fangs(due to falling as a pup) and he let go of her as soon as i grabbed him. Now with a pit there is no getting him/her off a child unless theres some time of firearm involved usually due to their lock jaw and i believe this is a reason for people who have them around children should not. I know a pit can be just as much of your child like a child but really what is more important? A dog or your child? Can anyone say 100% they know a dog would never attack?
I added some pics to show how sweet rocky really was...............

This one shes on my lap and he passes right out on the both of us...3 days after she got home from the hospital he never wanted to leave her side.
