I took a peek at your fish, you definitely have some beauties there. If I had more room in here I'd be looking at severums or something like that, possibly festivums even. I have some Heros sp. Curare that I'm growing out so my severums itch is being scratched for the time being. HahaWould suggest checking out tapajos severum, they are my hidden gems.
you might be right about the plants but those will wait for now at least, but yea the little pikes are outstanding. The colours and such are amazing and they are cool little fish to watch. The female in that pair that I point out in the video chases away the geos when she is in serious spawning mode. It's crazy to see such a small fish throw itself against a fish that's easily 10x it's size. Would recommend c. regani to anyoneLooking good so far. I think it may need some plants. maybe another time. Like the regani pikes!
That is pretty similar, how does your oscar get along with your geos? Mine bullied them a little but not too crazy although someone slept in that room one night and said he has one of the female geos "cornered" so maybe he was a closet monster, but in general it seemed opposite to a lot of what you read online. I would totally try the mix again if the tank was bigger.Great tank! I agree that adding some plants will really bring the 'scape to life. I'm kind of going for the same idea with my 125g tank, with the addition of my oscar instead of taking him out like in yours.I'll be looking at getting some atabapos red pikes to round out my stocking (current stocking is 1 oscar, 9 geo tapajos red heads, and 1 L134 pleco). Not quite a tapajos biotope like yours, but pretty similar to your stocking. You have good taste!
They get along great, but the oscar is only 6", still some growing and maturing to do. I've been keeping an eye on them. He is only a "bully" during feeding time. Never bites anyone, just chases them away from the food spot. Any other times besides feeding the oscar ignores the geos. That is pretty similar, how does your oscar get along with your geos?
