Intense light from your lights or direct sunlight is the most likely cause as pointed out. Just do a 50%ish water change and clean the gravel and try to reduce the direct light.

That way you don't have to cycle the tank again. It'll save a lot of time and pain.

Long as he doesn't clean the filter, there shouldn't be any re-cycling. The BB will still be present even with a 100% water change. Just make sure there's no more chlorine in the water before you turn the filter back on. That would kill the BB.

to add to the poop plecos do not eat poop they make alot of poop they do eat the algae and with great zest even if you see a pleco eat poop then it must be starving and the poops its last resort at getting something to eat like a big poop noodle:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

True. But he had mentioned using tap water, Possible chlorinated. I don't recall. So that is what I was basing my comment on. But good call none the less.

Go 30% everyday until it clears.
Keep your lights off and make sure your filter media is not clogged.

What are you calling us?!

get rid of your gravel and buy black sand, i had it and it was amazing (sold my old tank and its nearly impossible to find it in uk because pets at home stopped selling it), or black gravel throw in somme amazon swords possible some crushed coral, new uv light and close the curtains or blinds to make it less exposed to the sun.....hope this helped :)

p.s plecos are fish not filters or aquarium equipment. you still need to feed them pleco food (algae wafers, certain pellets, steamed vegetables etc.)

For the record, I was just joking about the Plecos eating poop. Not sure everyone else was, hard to tell sometimes. ;)

Don't think I've seen that one before.. What would someone suggest using straight bleach for? Cleaning the filter?
