I have some awesome meadow mushrooms that grow up under the pine trees in my backyard. The first time I picked, cooked and ate them my wife thought I was crazy and going to die, lol.

you ruined the magical properties of the shroom by cooking it. lol

I would plant different types of Hostas in those margins and possibly some of the red leafed and non fruit bearing banana plants for height.

I think im going to go with a mix of Hostas and Heuchera. Probably the smaller variety by the door and the larger variety out in the yard around my huge oak tree.
