platinum RTC?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo

HOLY FRIGGIN AWESOME! Oh that is just gorgeous! Cellitti I can see why you have become semi-obsessed! Obviously there are different mutations, if some stay "platinum" as they gain size and some change back to normal RTC colors when they gain size.. kind of cool. Maybe some are Lucy, maybe some full Albino and some a different kind of color mutation that eventually reverts to normal? If I had the space I would love to mess around with RTC genetics and see what can come out. Right now all I have messed with genetic wise was pigeon, dove, and now leo gecko and helping my friend with her ball pythons, I love genetics. I am sure there are some amazing things just waiting to be messed with in RTC.

I am not sure how amelanism works in fish, but how can it be that someone has an adult amel RTC when they change back as adults?
2 seperate mutations maybe?

This is what I was thinking, it has to be two different mutations, maybe one isnt true albino or lucy which could explain the color change when adult size?

ok if i rember this right most of what i know is from snake breading but there are two typs of albino L+ and L-. the L+ are what is known as a lusy or lusistic were the L- is a standered albino with no pigment lack of melanin or black pigment there for with red still being present thay will still have the red on there tails. i have seen snaks that are refered to as blue eyed lusy's with small gray paterns in then i have also seen this same trat is lesser forms of platinum rtc.
p.s. im sorry for my spelling

i will have to look in some of my genetic books tho

wish we could get a good answer if they change coloration through their growth and lifespan

What is that.. about a $1.85 Canadian? :P Jokes! Seriously the last one I saw was for sale in Jersey somewhere and I think (If I remember correctly) he was selling it for 5-6K with no one actually placing any offers on it... while they are rare and cool looking... there is no way of knowing if it is a temp morph or a permant change... only time can tell that

That's what sucks. Imagine buying a hugely expensive fish platinum, then call up all you're friends and family and then as you turn on the lights, BAM!
a plain old dark colored RTC with u huge price.

Never heard of gold RTC, but to me it just looks lighter coloured, or maybe it's just the colour of the lighting.

Celitti ever tried to find an old pic of someone with a juvi RTC and then asking that owner if it has stayed the same colour?
