Maybe the Bagarius bagarius, as it grows up to 10 inches.
I am not happy with the knife fish, because it can reach 16 inches and even more.
The tank is less than 3x its maximum body length.
Why don't you set it up just for bichirs?
You could add some Three spot gouramis, for a splash of color.

Sorry for the poor quality, but I've had this Senegal Bichir and Leopard Ctenopoma together for around 4 months. The Ctenopoma swims much like an Angelfish. It watches food for a long time, then it darts forward very quickly when it decides on its favorite piece. The Ctenopoma grows slowly but it hides well, so it may do fine with other predators. It's the only fish I have that wasn't terrorized when my cichlids started breeding.

hmmm, too much
you all tried well and give me some of your precious information about fishes, i should thank you all
now, if you all and i can do nothing because of two main problem lack of space and lack of stock then there is only two options left for me
1 go for oscar and parrot
2 bichirs only
3 all of three

an oscar might get a bit big for that tank, so you might have to upgrade later on (depending if your oscar breaks the 10-12 inch mark), but bichirs only could be fun.
