after reading the first page i got frustraided reading the commonts saying its a convict or geo... ITS A RED DEVIL/MIDAS ( WHETHER IT BE BARRED OR NOT ) CICHLID all rd/midas look diff or most of them do anyways.....

Im not seeing the Y or 4 shape bar behind the eyes like on the festae. Doesnt look like the normal "spot" on the caudal fin either. The spot of on the caudal fin usually has a ring around it. Looks like a plain black spot. So im going with a Mayan.

Well those were the pics from the store, I did buy him and Im going with Festae for sure, He is VERY aggressive and his color is coming back, I will post new pics soon. Thanks guys

My first instinct was Festae, but, better pics really are needed for a proper ID. A nice profile shot would be great!

I cannot even understand why people would guess Geo. It almost makes me angry that someone would give out wrong information when they obviously have no idea. This fish is going to turn out to be amphilophus or a festae without a question.
