There are some people on here that think because they work at a fish store that they are always right unfortunately.

It has nothing to do with that, unfortunately. It has to do with you and your false info. I also think you are a really nice person. In my opinion, I think one of two things should happen in order for you to be a successful contributor to this forum... A) Research what you are about to say before you present the information, so that the information you present is factual..... or B) Make it known that you are not really sure what you are talking about and that the information you are presenting is something you heard from an unreliable source/could be untrue.

I would say about 3 out of 5 posts you make giving someone information is either completely false information, or something you heard which bends the truth a little. Me and orange aren't out to get you, or out to give you a bad name...

We just want to help you provide good info! Please consider using your time and internet service to help instead of hurt. Please consider changing your methods of information gathering.
We want you to stay! Where would we be without the ladies???

I get that you "aren't out to get me"- but I am tired of hearing "at my store..." "the store I work at..."

I am sorry that I can't work at a fish store... it just simply wouldn't pay my bills.

Let me go check if petsmart is hiring then I can get some credit on this forum.

I am much cuter, and way more awesome. I'm also not nearly as hard to catch if you use the right technique. :lipsseale You ought to come to Louisiana and help out with the Invasive Texas Cichlid problem. They are pretty, so you could probably rehome many of them with little to no effort. It would just have to be outside of Louisiana.

Don't know who THAT was aimed at, because I haven't worked at a "fish store" ever... If you count the largest wholesale distributor of ornamental freshwater fish on the west coast a "fish store" then yeah, I've worked there, but I'm a full time student now working for my eventual PhD in fisheries biology. And on that note, I've probably cared for more species of freshwater fish 40+ hours a week than you've actually seen in person in your lifetime. I've packed up and shipped out tens of thousands of fish, personally spoken with many experts in the hobby, and have the educational background to back up my hobby knowledge base.
You're the one making this personal now. You say you want to start all these breeding projects and a fish store and then you post things about you wondering why your established female betta beat up a newly introduced single female betta a couple days ago? Seriously, just because you have the time and income to have all the tanks and fish you have does NOT make you knowledgable about the hobby.
Bottom line, my posts in this thread are well researched and supported by independent articles I've linked to. Your posts here are uneducated and opinion based, and you move to personal attacks when you cannot support them.
Why don't you post one single study that concluded armored catfish pose no threat if introduced to their non-native environments?

nooo....Just sometimes it may be better to not post on a thread if you don't know about it. Maybe it would be better to only comment on the threads in which you have experience, or just say "I have heard from a few members- yada yada".

We all know that working at a pet store doesn't mean anything as far as credibility. I realize that some people may talk out of their butt alot, but to be honest, I could care less if those people stick around. We want you here because you have the potential to be a great contributor.

Uhm... oregon state only offers a 4 yr degree... so PhD huh?

I am making this personal because you did. And since when does boxing and bagging fish give you the education on these things? Petsmart and Petco bag fish too.. and they are far from experts. You have no idea the fish that I have seen or some in contact with, so for you to say that you've got the upper on me with that doesn't stand. Again with the "at my store"... I could care less WHERE you WORKED.

ALL non native fish should be considered invasive IMO. But, you don't see people killing tanks full of fish. If the OP really wanted to help out in FL she should probably just work with the constrictors- they are causing much more harm than a damn pleco.

She posted this thread, and she kinda knew what was coming to her. She knew she would get flamed. No offense to the OP, but I think she put it in this section for more attention.

Move it to the pleco thread where it BELONGS.
