There is actually a case of Pleco Attacking Piranha on youtube..

But you'll have to find some of the more bigger aggressive types of pleco... like this guy.. who is a meat eating pleco..

LMAO the piranha tried to take the peice of fish or whatever from the pleco and the pleco goes after it lol

i can imagine the pleco saying: "B*tch get back with my food"

my pleco so far seems to be fine with my piranhas they havent even nipped him when he comes out while there eating to eat up the scraps i say go for it considering your pleco is so much larger than the piranhas

ok thank you.

sure you can as long as the filters can keep up (plecos are poop machines) and you keep both species well fed so the plecos won't suck on those small piranhas.
also, you sure you have serrasalmus spilopleura and not serrasalmus maculatus or serrasalmus sanchezi? I never seen true spilopleura available at such small size
Spilos are they only serra I know of that can be bred in captivity so you would be more likely to find these in smaller sizes.

they will be here tomorrow, i will get some good pics to get a better ID from you guys, that way i know what i have.

well i know we're not talking about red bellies here but in my experience i had my common pleco in the tank before i introduced the piranhas and they were around 3-4" too and they grew up with the pleco knowing not to eat it sounds strange but its true, just keep them well fed that should do the trick bud.

the plecos are already there, the P's are about 2-3" and i have a the tank setup for them all ready. so if your experience fits, then im hoping they will do fine together.

the piranhas may be skittish around the big plecos until they get bigger but by that time they will be used to them, this i see is what has happened with my fish, both my red belly, my 5 cusped piranha and so far my latest addition my black rhom

thanks, i was hoping i wouldn't have to move any fish anymore.

i can do that, i try to keep all my fish happy
