i recently acquired a 135g tank, but it didn't come with lids. glass seems expensive, so i was thinking about going with plexi. the problem with plexi is that it warps. how do i keep this from happening?

I believe glass is cheaper than acrylic bro.

My honest opinion just buy the stock glass top for it. You will never regret it and it comes with the hindges and back strip. I have used plexy before and it is more of a pain than anything else due to the warping. Plus you will need to cut the opening for your accesories in the back if you use plexing.

I had plexi for a while and then switched to glass. Plexi is a pain in the *** because it bows.

I purchased acryllic tops for mine. I've regretted it ever since. It seems that I have to flip them over at least once a week otherwise they actually bow down into the water. Later on I plan to replace them with glass.

plexi tops blow. spend the money on glass, or you can try the plexi and buy glass later while cussing " i shoulda bought the f'in glass the first time."

You can have a glass shop cut lids for you as well.

:iagree: thats what i did..

going to a glass co. cost me $90 and some change for 2 big pieces and 2 smaller pieces to brace the bigger ones when on from sagging and sanded edges, then i bought the plastic strip/hinge ($6) to connect the 2 pieces (which was a MFK'r to put on:irked:) but all in all looks good

i bought a 3 piece set of all glass versa tops from drs. foster and smith for 59 bucks shipped. i also tried the acrylic, cost me about 70 bucks and it it didnt work too well...i was better off tossing that 70 bucks in and watching it float in my tank
