Plywood overhead sump/canopy

I think the ramp is too long and steep.

Well seeing as if i decrease the steepness, the length of the ramp will increase, or vice versa, how do i mitigate this conundrum?

I modeled the ramp (in terms of steepness) to match the grade of an aquaclear 110. But it is a straight angle off since its wood, instead of a convex ramp like the ac110.

Perhaps I shouldn't have said too long but it's really too steep. The ramp should be nearly flat. Only a few degrees down.

Would this mean the entire ramp or could just altering the angle at the point of exit to that minimal slope with like a 1" extension lip work?

I would just get some cardboard and tape and build different ones until you get one that works well with your flow rate. they don't have to last very long for you to know whether they will work or not.

In order for this to look right the water has to shoot out. You're not trying to make it shoot down.
