...or just come to whatever meeting you want for free
...or join for a whole year for $20 ($10 if you're under 18)

We're not talking about breaking the bank...

I like the way CCA sounds, and if "groups" want speakers and stuff you just have a meeting and be like, hey we can get this guy to come in if we all chip in 10$

that way people who cant make it to that meeting, or dont want to...dont feel like the club basically stole his money.

CCA out of the DC/Maryland?Virgina area. Great local resource of information as well as access to great deals

Yes,
I'm a member of the VAHC( Vancouver aquatic hobbyist club). Here is the website:
http://www.vahc.ca/index.cfm

I joined b/c I like to attend the yearly monster auction held in November. I also, if I have time like to go to the montly meeting at the Vancouver aquarium. Each month they have a speaker along with a mini-auction. They are not part of the Vancouver aquarium though, the meetings are just held there.

Cool - it would be great if the Baltimore Aquarium would host some meetings for us...although I think we're too big for their meeting rooms at this point. Do you get behind the scenes tours, etc. of the Van. Aquarium?

Anyone else...either in a fish club or not. And why?

Thanks,
Matt

I'm part of GCAS(Greater City Aquarium Society). Although I've only been able to attend one meeting so far this year, due to my work schedule. I really need to pay my dues to ACA also.

MAKC- Mid Atlantic Koi Club

To be honest with you, it was a waste of money. I am 20 years old, my fiance is 28.

Apparently Koi clubs are for older people who don't know what "upgrade" means.

The youngest person, other than us, is I would say 50.. and that's probably shooting too low for age. It's depressing trying to tell someone they don't have enough of filtration for their pond, and because they've had that since 89' they still think it's adequate, although their koi are now a foot and a half long!

I will NEVER join another club unless I know it's not old people!
