CCA (Capital Cichlid Association) was an offshoot of PVAS (Potomac Valley Aquarium Society), which is the "general" freshwater club in the area (that's been around since 1960).
I'd bet that CCA's bigger than PVAS at this point...and more and more folks are getting into new world vs. old world.
It's a bit of a drive but you're more than invited to come to CCA meetings, even if you're not a member. We've got lots of folks who come from the York, PA area
