Has anyone had any experience keeping a polypterus in a brackish environment? I've read that many do live in brackish water and before I move them I wanted to check with someone experienced. I have an Ornate, a Senegal, and a Delhezi. Advice please

i did heard a long time ago that they can survive in mild brackish water. BUT, I extremely don't recommend you to do this. putting them in brackish might just mean they are hardy fish but it doesn't mean they will become healthy in it.

Thanks everybody. Yeah not worth the risk, gotta keep my guys where they should be. Just upgraded my brackish tank, so looks like I'll be pushing toward some Datnoids and archers instead. Thanks again

No problem. But datnoids aren't brackish either. lol

Datnoids do quite well in brackish. I've had a small one in 1.008 salinity for months now.

Yeah I researched before I put him in brackish. I tied a hose and put a drip line for about an hour from the brackish water to the container the datnoid was in to acclimate the water and get him use to it. After the hour I put him in the tank and he's been doing great ever nice : )
