I don't know about that...while she looks nice and green here, I actually like the visible body pattern when I had them in the 120g with the Silica Sand. They show it once in awhile, but mostly dark. They've probably been in with the Black Sand for over 8 months. Here's another shot from May '12

Super black and muddy on this pic, is it the camera???? I think most of those who collect the upper jaw shoot for the greens but i would have to agree with you both i like patterns more hence the reason why I'm keep the lower jaws. Maybe you should try some of the MOHAWK I believe this stuff is good for both upper and lower.

where did you pick that up? i googled it and found the web site but can't find vendors.

thanks in advance

Jax FL, where are you located?

Interesting though: jax,Fl is an hour from me. So there is hope for sand for us Florida people. I wonder if they still make this sand.

I'd just call any abrasive company and ask these questions:

1. Have any idaho purple garnet or Barton red garnet abrasives? I'd target 30/40, 36, or even the 16 Mesh which is bigger. I'd avoid 60 and above due to grains being too fine and tend to stick to the polys slimecoat a bit more.

2. If not. Do u know where I can get near by? Thank u.

:-)
