Hi 888Fish, can i ask, since i just got one of these guys recently, are you feeding your eels Hikari FD Krill? Or some other brand? Coz im in the porcess of finding more food to feed, but want to find out what works ans what doesn't, sice Hikari Carnivore Pellets they show pretty much 0 interest in...

Been searching for a conclusive answer to whether Polyuranadon can be kept in a Marine tank?
I know G.Tile is fine with saltwater and have had one for 6 months.
Some sources insist Polyuranadon is a pure freshwater fish?

^ There isn't that much solid info on these fish due to them being quite rare to find in nature, although was reading one article that stated that this species has supposedly never been actually found in an actual Full Marine environment, and only ever in Freshwater and occasionally light brackish conditions...

Although take what i said with the grain of salt, since it was from an article i read online that was supposedly based on 26 field researchers studying the species...

feeding tetra FD krill as it is cheaper. Once you get them coming to the surface for food they have such poor vision they poke around at the food sometimes snatching up FD krill, hikari floating sticks, and hikari bio gold +. You just gotta be patient, it took several months for me cuz of the overactive loaches and cuz they ignored floating pellets. But the krill works cuz it smells strong! Once you got one of them eating what you want, the rest just follow. I got 4, growing like weeds, and they are so habitual, staying in same individual areas under the driftwood throughout the tank.

^ Thanks for the info, i also noticed mine was exploring different cave options in the tank, and seems to have now settled on one spot he must have dug out under some driftwood...

Will also check out getting some type of FD Krill for them to eat, coz mine is showing interest in cut up pieces of market prawn, but really need to find more foods to help fatten him up...

IME, it also helps when you routinely feed floating food at the same end of the tank, with the current keeping it that general area.

Okay, just came across this video on youtube, and DAMN this guy has some beautiful specimens in his tank that look big and very fat!!!

Starve them for a few days and try FD krill. If they will take prawn, they should take krill. I got two around 12", the other two about 17-20" but thick!
