Are the 2x4's on the short side, going to be like illustrated, or on edge like the long side?

How thick of styrofoam and what are you going to use as underlayment?

I see you got the google app to work for you too...;)

Oh yeah, Looks great to me...I like the idea of those halved joints too...

I got lazy with copy and paste, the 2x4s will be like they are on the long side:). I have some nice closed cell 1.5" foam to line the inside with, and I'm hoping I can get away with 1/2" plywood.

Looks good, but like mentioned before...just good old fashion plywood would be better.

1/2" ply on 16 centers No Prob.! you'll have 16 centers going vert and horz with the 4x4 top, middle and bottom, looks really strong to me...:headbang2

Should be great. FYI. I just picked up 4x8 sheets of 3/8 for 9.99. I would definitely go with plywood vs MDF.

This tank is going to rock! I am coming up there to help build it.

Nice!! where did you get the plywood?

I'm so lucky to have a girl that supports this kind of insanity.

Just picked it up at Lowes. And... if you get a cashier that doesn't pay attention like I did, you will get three pieces for the price of one.:D

what you dont like my timber pond idea? :grinno:

i love the ida! :headbang2i just had bad luck with MDF and moisture.i will be following your build. i want one in my garage bout the same only 10'x4'x4'.

i dont know what you think of it but carpet padding can be gotton free. from flooring stores. they throw it away by the ton.anyway i'll sush looking forward to seeing more :headbang2:headbang2

With the way I'm going to insulate this, the timber pond wouldn't work very well. The cost would end up being close the the same anyway.
