Pondering ID of this NJ River fish

if it is a bluegill, they can be mean. might stress out less aggressive fish. although, when they're not stressed, they can have great color. and they eat about n e thing u feed them.

You don't need a DNA test for this of all fish.

This fish has a large mouth that extends to the center of it's eye (very few sunfish have this large of a mouth and no others have that mouth with the following characteristics).....a dark spot on it's soft dorsal and anal fin (notice this fish is larger/older than the other ID thread at this time). This fish also has a short, rounded pectoral fin and white bordering it's soft dorsal and anal fins.

yup its a pure green sunfish

not everyones an expert, and no one posted wrong id on purpose



but yeah its a green sunfish
